I am a teacher, pianist and ballet dancer, as well as a 3 time sepsis survivor with my most recent bout being last year. I spent 2 weeks induced in a coma and a month in the ICU. Thankfully I was able to identify the symptoms of sepsis since I had been septic twice before.

In the coma, my feet had turned necrotic from all of the medication that I was on and I had multi-organ failure. I miraculously not only survived but also have thrived since and have returned to dancing ballet, which has been a passion of mine all of my life. I am now a patient and family advisor for the hospital that cared for me and my goal is to spread sepsis awareness as it is life-threatening and many people do not know the signs and symptoms of sepsis.
