Ashly Ervin

I woke up feeling off one morning. I proceeded to get ready for work, but struggled to do so. After I managed to get ready for work and start my shift, I started to lose my voice and then I started vomiting. I tried to make it through my shift, but I just couldn’t.
I laid down on my bed thinking it was just a virus. Within the next 30 minutes I started feeling like I had the flu. My kids came to check on me (I work from home) and they said I didn’t look well and to please go get seen at our local clinic. After arriving at our local clinic and taking vitals, the doctors and nurses decided it was best to call an ambulance to come get me. I was transported to a local hospital where they determined the cause of my illness was in fact sepsis.
The hospital could not determine what caused me to go septic and that left me with a lot of unknowns. I still suffer daily with not able to do things that I once could before sepsis. I have continued to get weaker as time goes by and I am hoping one day I get some answers and I can live a normal life again.
