Sepsis Performance Improvement: Bridging the Gap When Current Guidelines Fall Short, presented by Wolters Kluwer
There are core differences between current sepsis guidelines–some supported by literature as well as areas of controversy. During this talk, Dr. Steve Claypool will discuss crucial often overlooked components of sepsis improvement programs that are not covered by guidelines and how to fill the gaps.
Closing the Loop on Sepsis Management: Microbiological Insights Beyond the First Six Hours, presented by Accelerate Diagnostics
Clinicians face practical difficulties in the first few hours when trying to diagnose sepsis. At presentation, it is often unclear whether or not infection is present and whether or not organ dysfunction is due to infection. Learn how collaboration with the clinical microbiology laboratory in the hours that follow can make a substantial difference in the life of your patient. Learn which key lab results to look for, as well as questions you can ask as part of the care team.
