Sepsis Alliance Voices Advocacy Training: Superbugs and Policy Solutions
August 23, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Date: August 23, 2023
Time: 2:00 pm ET
Description:
In 2019, the World Health Organization named antimicrobial resistance (AMR) one of the top ten threats to global health. AMR occurs when infectious germs stop responding to the drugs designed to treat them. This threatens the very foundations of modern medicine, including sepsis care. If germs no longer respond to drugs such as antibiotics, more and more infections will progress out of control into life-threatening sepsis.
In the face of such a large – and growing – public health threat, patients need large government solutions. Join Sepsis Alliance for this free and virtual advocacy training to learn about:
- What AMR is, and how it threatens sepsis care;
- The policy solutions that the U.S. government can use to combat AMR;
- How advocates can get involved in this fight against superbugs.
This webinar will air live, including a Q&A with the presenter. A recording will be made available for those who cannot attend live.
Speaker:
Catriona Macdonald, Policy and Advocacy Committee Co-Chair, Sepsis Alliance
