December 9 @ 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm

  • « Sponsored Webinar: Unveiling the LIAISON PLEX® BSI Portfolio: The Smarter Diagnostics for Bloodstream Infections
  • Sponsored Webinar: Beyond the ICU: The Role of Lactate in Sepsis, Recovery, and Readmission Risk »

Date: December 9, 2025

Time: 1 PM ET/10 AM PT

Description:

Designed to help survivors understand and navigate life with a new ostomy following severe sepsis or septic shock, this session provides clear, compassionate education on the different types of ostomies, why ostomies are sometimes needed following sepsis, and what to expect in the weeks and months after surgery. Participants will gain practical knowledge about daily care, supplies, skin protection, and warning signs to watch for, presented in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

Beyond medical guidance, the program focuses on rebuilding confidence and quality of life. Attendees will learn strategies for adapting to physical and emotional changes, tips for managing diet and routines, and ways to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and support networks. Whether you are newly living with an ostomy or supporting a loved one, this program offers empowering tools and resources to help you move forward with comfort, resilience, and a renewed sense of control.

Speaker:

Linda Coulter, BSN, RN, CWOCN, United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. Board of Directors, Director at Large
