Sepsis Alliance Connect: Moving Forward: The Role of Mental Health Therapy After Sepsis
August 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Date: August 18, 2026
Time: 11 AM ET/8 AM PT
Description:
Recovering from sepsis involves more than physical healing. Many survivors experience anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, grief, or other emotional challenges that can linger long after leaving the hospital. Working with a mental health therapist can be an important part of recovery, helping you process your experience, develop coping strategies, and regain confidence as you move forward.
This month’s presenter is a sepsis survivor and social worker who specializes in supporting people living with medical trauma and chronic illness. Drawing from both her personal and professional experience, she will discuss the emotional impact of surviving sepsis, what therapy can offer during recovery, and how to find a therapist who understands the unique challenges of medical trauma and chronic illness. You’ll leave with practical guidance, helpful resources, and greater confidence in taking the next step toward healing.
