In addition, Jay is Co-Founder of Stoneacre2.0, an affinity and relationship marketing company focused on developing recurring revenue streams for brands through a strategic approach to 1:1 marketing disciplines. Jay is also General Manager of Hammerhead Entertainment, a full-service video and content production company. Established in 2004 by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., the team is skilled at producing content for a wide range of national and international clients in various industries. Hammerhead Entertainment has the capabilities to produce commercials, television programs, marketing materials, creative online videos, and radio content. In addition, he was Dean, Ketner School of Business at Catawba College. Recruited by the President of Catawba College to develop new strategic approaches for the business school to drive enrollment. Jay was responsible for all academic curriculum, development of new programs, fundraising, community engagement, marketing, and recruiting.
In addition, Jay worked as COO NASCAR Media Group; VP New Media & Content – NASCAR. With NASCAR, Jay grew top line at CAGR 25% from 2002 – 2010. He consolidated the LA rights management office and Charlotte content management and production facility; the plan required $40M capital investment by NASCAR to build a new production/post-production facility.
In addition, Jay’s early career led him on the path to H.J. Heinz Company, where he was Vice President – Business Development. He negotiated a licensing deal for the Boston Market brand where he achieved $135M in first-year sales, making Boston Market the first internally developed $100M business at Heinz since Ketchup; he also led the divestiture team of a non-strategic business in Budget Gourmet. In addition, he developed an entry strategy for the natural foods category; this included the acquisition of the #2 natural frozen food manufacturer and internal development of Linda McCartney Natural Frozen Meals. Prior to that, he worked at H.J. Heinz as VP Marketing, Weight Watchers Food Company, where he coordinated and managed a marketing spend of $140M, resulting in total gross sales of $850M.
Jay holds a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business, the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts, English and American Literature from Brown University.
Jay is on the Board of Directors of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA), National Sports Media Association (NSMA). Jay has won 4 Sports Emmys and was nominated for 14 Sports Emmys.
