In 2011, Sepsis Alliance designated September as Sepsis Awareness Month to put a spotlight on sepsis and sepsis awareness. In devoting September as the official month to get involved and make a difference with sepsis awareness, more organizations, healthcare systems, and individuals are able to make a concentrated effort on sharing information about sepsis.

The next year, World Sepsis Day was born. Global Sepsis Alliance, of which SA is a founding member, declared September 13th to be World Sepsis Day, bringing together healthcare professionals and individuals from around the world to recognize sepsis as a global issue. World Sepsis Day works in conjunction with Sepsis Awareness Month to raise sepsis awareness on a global scale and spark change.

We know that simply raising awareness saves lives from sepsis. Join us in making a difference this Sepsis Awareness Month.
