Robert Sadusk

Tribute

My husband Robert had been hospitalized for over three months for complications of diabetes. While in the hospital, he was treated for MRSA, which was contracted in the facility. (Sepsis and MRSA)

He was continuously given antibiotics, then stopped, then started on a new one. My love was catheterized and had a PIC line introduced. All this invasive tubing led to more infection. Robert, now had a urinary tract infection (Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections) and he complained of severe back pain for days!!!!!!!

Robert was diagnosed with pneumonia. (Sepsis and Pneumonia) I spent the whole day visiting with him as usual and kissed him goodbye as he rested. I returned home at 7:00 pm, and called husband to say goodnight as usual. At 4:30 am, the phone rang. It was the hospital ICU. Robert was not doing well at all and I needed to get there right away. Robert had septic shock!!!!!!

His blood pressure was 39/25 and declining. Every antiobiotic and treatment was given. He died at 7:20 pm. This was pure neglect to diagnose his septic shock sooner, I feel. All of the tubing, the procedures, and the hospital environment invaded my fragile husband’s body and caused his death by sepsis shock.

Now I am left with guilt knowing I let this happen to Robert. It makes me sick everyday….
