In 2012 I had a laparoscopy for abdominal pain. One week later I was diagnosed with a perforated bowel and was eventually taken to surgery. (Sepsis and SurgerySepsis and Perforated Bowel) By that time I was septic. After the surgery to correct the perforation, my abdomen was unable to be closed, my blood pressure was also very low and I was having complications due to the infection.

I was on a ventilator in ICU for 12 days, during that time I was also taken to surgery four times to eventually close my abdomen. I ended up spending five weeks in the hospital and continue to have problems today.
