Tribute

My story is actually my mom’s story. But because of sepsis, she is not here to share it.

My mom was 70 when she passed and had diabetes that she managed well. (Sepsis and Diabetes) My mother had been to the hospital for stomach pains. They resolved the problem and was sent home. The only problem was. That the site of the IV was very swollen. When addressed before she checked out, they blew it off.

Within 3 days she contracted cellulitis from this site. (Sepsis and Cellulitis) She had a fever and by the time she agreed to go back to ER had beginning stages of sepsis. She couldn’t move and within 2 days went into respiratory arrest with septic shock.

She was moved to ICU. Then came MRSA. (Sepsis and MRSA)

She was put in ICU on a Friday then the following Tuesday, she took her last breath. I wish the nurses and doctors would have listen to my concerns in there being something more wrong with her. I had no clue what sepsis was before this. I want everyone to be aware of this horrible condition!
