The MD in the emergency room of our hospital read an X-ray and diagnosed my condition as pneumonia. (Sepsis and Pneumonia) The next morning my primary physician came in and said that a radiologist, in whom we both have confidence, did not agree with the doctor in ER. Admittance was changed to pneumonia and Sepsis.

I was in the hospital for eight days with all kinds of fluids administered, some through my port. I also have prostate cancer which has gone into my bones, as well as COPD. I believe that radiation and chemo weakened my immune system to the point that I required hospitalization. That’s just a layman’s opinion.

I hope that you all have a primary physician as good as mine. He is a 78-year-old internist who has treated Sepsis for over 40 years. He will not accept the word of an ER doctor when the symptoms and his experience tell him that the illness is something else.

Good luck to all. This is not a pleasant disease.
